How to take appointments from Instagram and WhatsApp

For a lot of salons, studios and local services, most enquiries arrive as DMs. That means your booking system is currently your thumbs, and it only works while you are holding your phone. A booking link fixes that without moving your audience off social.

Put the link in your Instagram bio

Your booking page lives at a link like bookyourslot.online/yourname. That goes straight in the bio field. Someone who finds you at 11pm books a slot at 11pm, and you read about it in the morning.

If you offer several services, make an event type for each one. Each gets its own link, so a Stories post about one service can point directly at that booking page rather than a generic one.

Use it as your DM reply

Save the link as a quick reply. When someone asks "are you free Saturday?", the answer becomes one message with a link instead of four messages comparing times. Your page already knows what you have free, so you are not checking a calendar while typing.

Let the page do the time zone maths

If you take remote consultations, guests see slots in their own time zone automatically. That removes the single most common booking mistake in international DMs.

Set WhatsApp as the meeting location

For consultations you run over chat, set the event type's location to your WhatsApp link. The confirmation email carries it, so the client knows exactly where to be without asking.

Print it where phones already are

A QR code pointing at your booking page works on a reception card, a mirror, or a flyer. People photograph it and book later, which is exactly the behaviour you want.

Common questions

Do I need to stop using DMs?

No, and you should not. DMs are where the relationship happens. The link just moves the mechanical part, agreeing on a time, out of the conversation.

Can I hide certain slots?

Yes. Your page only ever offers hours you have defined, so keep walk-in or regular-client time out of the schedule and handle it as you do today.

What if two people book the same slot?

They cannot. A slot disappears the moment it is taken, and connected Google Calendar events block your availability too.
