Online booking for barbershops: fill the chair between walk-ins

Barbershops run on walk-ins and regulars. Booking software that assumes every minute is bookable fights that, which is why a lot of shops try it once and go back to the notebook. The setup below fits around how a shop already works.

Give each barber their own page

Regulars want their barber, not any barber. Each person gets a personal booking page with their own hours and their own days off, so a client books the chair they actually want. Share the individual links rather than one shop link.

One event type per cut

  • Skin fade (45m), Cut and beard (45m), Dry trim (20m), Kids cut (20m).
  • Real durations matter more here than anywhere. A twenty minute trim booked into a forty five minute block is a third of a chair wasted.

Reserve time for walk-ins by simply not offering it

Do not try to model walk-ins. Just leave them out. If Saturday mornings are walk-in only, do not put Saturday morning in your availability. The page can only ever offer hours you defined, so unlisted time stays yours.

Buffers between clients

Add a five minute buffer after each appointment to sweep up and reset. Without it, the schedule assumes you teleport between clients, and by mid-afternoon you are running late through no fault of anyone.

Let clients move their own appointment

Confirmation emails carry reschedule and cancel links. A client who cancels at 8am frees a slot someone else can take that day, which is the difference between a gap and a booking (more on cutting no-shows).

Common questions

Can the whole shop share one page?

Not yet. Each barber has their own page and link today. A shared shop page that assigns whoever is free is on the roadmap, not live.

What about a barber's day off?

Date overrides handle one-off changes without touching the weekly pattern, and connected Google Calendar events block availability automatically.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. Most clients will book from a phone, and the page is built for that first.

Set up your shop's booking pages free. Start with one barber, see how it lands, then add the rest.
